Petr K. Pešek

Petr Pešek is a partner of Dravot Carnehan CZ. He has accumulated an extensive experience in the commercial law. He has acted as a lawyer at the printing conglomerate headquarters, Czech Ministry of Finance, and participated in legal preparation of the tax system reform. He actively participated at the Czech privatisation as the head of the legal department of the National Property Fund, a Czech privatisation authority. He works as an attorney since 1994 (attorney firms Kocián Šolc Balaštík, Becker & Poliakoff and Rowan Legal). He provided legal advice to international and domestic clients on a large number of important M&A transactions. In 1999 to 2001 he acted as an independent legal and investment advisor based in the US. He was a board member in several Czech join-stock companies (Bohemia Sekt, Vitana, Renault Karosa, Pivovar Vyškov, etc.). He is specialised in M&A and commercial law.

Petr Pešek is graduate of the faculty of law at the Charles University (JUDr.) and undertook postgraduate studies at Columbia University New York (US legal system). Since 1994 he is a member of the Czech Bar Association.

Petr Pešek is also the author of several specialised papers and articles primarily on the corporate law topics. E. g. Guide to European Company Laws, Chapter Concerning the Czech Republic (Sweet and Maxwell, 1997 a 2007), Corporate Governance and Financial Control in the Czech Republic, Legislative Analysis and Survey Result (in co-operation with Coopers and Lybrand, 1997), etc.

He speaks Czech and English.
